If you need to file a Self Assessment tax return and are doing it online, the deadline to file and pay is 31st January. Or, if you submitted a paper return back in October, this is your deadline to pay any tax owed.
By midnight on this date, you must have:
- Filed your return online, and
- Paid any tax you owe for the previous tax year (which ends on 5th April).
For the 2024/25 tax year, that means filing and paying by 31st January 2026.
Missing the deadline can lead to penalties and interest charges from HMRC.
Here at Danbro Accounting, we can file your tax return on your behalf, claiming everything you’re entitled to while ensuring absolute compliance. Learn more about our self-assessment service, here.
