We’re delighted to announce The Danbro Foundation’s new sponsorship project with local family and children’s charity, Home-Start.
The Foundation’s Board of Trustees recently voted to donate £1,500 to Home-Start: Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre, which will fund the cost of supporting one local family for the next 12 months.
Working with families who experience challenges such as mental or physical ill-health, disability, abuse, financial pressure, and bereavement, the charity’s core principle is to ‘increase the confidence, capacity, and independence of families’ by:
“The unfortunate reality right now is that, as with so many other charities and community organisations, Home-Start are seeing an influx in referrals as a result of the pandemic and the cost of living crisis. It’s a really difficult time for so many families, and the essential services that Home-Start provides are needed now more than ever.”
“Through our Foundation, we’re privileged to be in a position to be able to offer our support to organisations like Home-Start, as they continue making a difference through their wonderful work. I’m proud that this donation will cover the cost of supporting one local family for the next 12 months. Home-Start: ‘Generating lasting development amongst parents & children’
Through a network of trained volunteers and specialist staff, Home-Start provide essential, personalised, and non-judgemental support for vulnerable parents and children in Blackpool, Wyre, The Fylde, and beyond.Working with families who experience challenges such as mental or physical ill-health, disability, abuse, financial pressure, and bereavement, the charity’s core principle is to ‘increase the confidence, capacity, and independence of families’ by:
- Offering emotional and practical support to parents and their children.
- Visiting families in their own homes, to protect their dignity and identity.
- Encouraging early childhood development through playing and learning.
- Helping parents implement new strategies to cope with challenging behaviour.
