Business Insurance

MAKING SURE YOU’RE FULLY COVERED

AVAILABLE TO FREELANCER, CONSULTANT & CONTRACTOR CLIENTS OF DANBRO, WHO OPERATE THEIR OWN PERSONAL SERVICE COMPANY

If you’re running your own business you’ll need to consider whether you need, or are indeed required, to take out business insurance. Many clients will insist on Professional Indemnity Insurance, as well as Employers’ Liability and Public Liability Insurance. So, make sure you check your assignment Ts & Cs for mandatory requirements.

Taking out business insurance can also be helpful from an IR35 perspective. This is because HMRC would expect a person “genuinely in business” to make considerations regarding the appropriate level of cover required.

At Danbro you can access the following business insurance policies included in your accountancy service.

Professional Indemnity Insurance (Covered for up to £5m)

Firstly, this provides essential protection should a claim be brought against you by a client for negligence or breach of a duty of care. For example, giving incorrect advice or making a mistake in your professional work.

Public Liability Insurance (Covered for up to £5m)

This provides protection for claims brought against you for damage to third-party property or bodily injury to any member of the public.

Employers’ liability insurance (Covered for up to £10m)

This covers you for claims brought against you for bodily injuries, illness, death or disease of any of your employees in the course of their work for you.
