Blackpool based accountants Danbro have been named among the top accountancy firms and top umbrella services in the country, according to an online survey.

Visitors to Contractor UK website have been voting on the best, and worst, aspects of the contracting industry. Categories include ‘Best Client of the Year’, ‘Best Agency of the Year’ and ‘Best Job Board of the Year’. As well as providing advice and tips on tax compliance and legal issues, offering insurance policies and advertising urgent contracts, the website provides a forum area in which contractors and freelancers can share their views.

Danbro were nominated for ‘Best Accountancy Firm’ and ‘Best Umbrella Service’ receiving recognition in the top 6 listed firms for each category. Both categories received varied responses from contractors, with widespread debate about which firm offers the best service.

Managing partner Damian Broughton said, “The nominations come from the contractors and freelancers, so we’re delighted to be up there among the top ranked firms in the country. The poll has a light-hearted element, but ultimately it gives us feedback from the people we are tailoring our services toward.”

Some of the worst aspects of contracting included Gordon Brown, HM Revenue and Customs and corporation tax.
