Danbro Launches Umbrella Solution for UK Contractors Working in Germany

Danbro, the specialist accountants for contractors, has launched another new service for its clients, after gaining an AUG licence, which allows it to carry out labour leasing in Germany.

The Arbeitnehmerüberlassungsgesetz (AUG) is the law which regulates the business of one company transferring its employees to work temporarily with another company within Germany.

Danbro’s receipt of the AUG licence means they are now able to assist their own clients who are looking to work in Germany, as well as recruitment agencies which are looking to supply their own staff there.

Danbro’s Gerry Gregoire said: “This is great news as we can now assist recruitment agencies who want to develop their presence in Germany using a compliant payroll vessel.

“Many end-clients over in Germany are reluctant to deal with a contractor unless the employer holds an AUG licence. This reluctance stems from risk of the contractor declaring himself to be the employee of the end-client and as a result, if any tax or social security liabilities are owed, the end-client could be found liable for these outstanding amounts.

“Now that we hold the AUG licence, we are classed as the employer under AUG licence terms, thus are in a position to deal with UK contractors working in Germany compliantly.”
