Tax Return Self Assessment 31st October Deadline HMRC Announcement

HMRC has announced that taxpayers who miss the 31st October deadline for paper tax returns may avoid paying a late penalty.

Previously any paper returns received after the deadline (end of Friday 31 October 2008) would have incurred a late-filing penalty.

If Tax returns are delivered to a HMRC office before it opens on Tuesday 4th November then no late-filing penalty will be incurred.
