Danbro Shortlisted For Business Awards
Danbro, the specialist accountants for contractors, came close to yet more awards success last week when they reached the finals of the Be Inspired Business Awards (BIBA) in the ‘Business of the Year’ and ‘Best use of E-Business’ categories.
Danbro was on the final shortlist of six for each prize, before being pipped at the post at the ceremony on Friday, 12 March.
Nonetheless, after this year’s contest attracted some 927 entries, the firm was proud to have been in the running again – just a week after winning the Small Deal of the Year prize at the Insider Dealmakers Awards 2010, in recognition of its successful takeover of Safe Business Solutions last year.
The BIBA awards, organised by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, are designed to reward the area’s brightest business stars. To enter the contest, Danbro were required to submit a written application, outlining how the business works and how it uses technology, followed by an interview where Danbro partner Damian Broughton answered questions put forward by the judging panel.
He said: “The awards are coming thick and fast at the moment, and while we can’t win all of them, it was great news to come so close to winning once again.
“Making the best use of the latest technology has played a big part in our recent expansion, and I’m delighted the judges recognised that by shortlisting us for that prize, as well as for the overall Business of the Year title.”
The firm was also recently named as a member of the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 list of the company’s fastest-growing companies for the third year running, appearing at number 40 on the 2009 list, and was shortlisted in three separate categories for the Accountancy Age Awards for excellence in 2009.
