Contechs are a design and engineering consultancy that have been established for 10 years. They operate from two locations, one in Basildon, Essex and one in Warwickshire. In total they employ over 500 people. In the decade that they have been operating, Contechs have secured contracts with some of the most prestigious automotive companies in the world including McLaren, Jaguar, Ford and Bentley. The recruitment branch of Contechs is responsible for providing these elite car firms with white collar automotive designers and engineers.

Recruitment Manager Amanda Rounce has been with Contechs for 3 years. She first came across Danbro when a newly recruited engineer requested to be run through Danbro’s umbrella service. Amanda telephoned the firm to arrange this, and from this initial point of contact a meeting was organised to discuss Danbro’s services. According to Amanda, Contechs haven’t looked back since.

Danbro currently provide a payroll service for approximately 50 of Contechs’ contractors. What impresses both Amanda and her contractors is the ease of having a single major point of contact at Danbro. They find it relieving to be able to discuss their needs with a familiar party, and not have to re-introduce themselves and their cases, to many different people. Amanda feels that she can call Mike at Danbro in the knowledge she is not going to encounter any problems. She even has Danbro on speed-dial!

Amanda has daily contact with Danbro, and has a good working relationship with the firm.  She has dealt with umbrella companies in the past.  With Danbro she feels that it’s a breath of fresh air to have a company do exactly what it says on the tin.

There was an encounter recently when a piece of legislation regarding umbrella companies changed, and some were prevented from continuing their operation. Amanda believes that the purpose of the exercise was to identify the lowest performing companies. Danbro weren’t included but contacted Contechs nevertheless, to explain the legislation and reassure them that their service would not be affected. It is this professional nature and the tendency to go over and above for their clients that encourages Amanda to recommend them heartily.
